"Look at us! he's black, i'm white!" it's so weird to me.
I don't think it's so much about look at us! It's more about celebrating the blending of two backgrounds - Black/White couples aren't the only ones who do that.
It's definitely a unique experience dealing with someone of a different race.
I'm talking to a White guy now - but he doesn't "look" VERY White. People often think he's mixed with Asian or something.
I think that's why I may feel more comfortable with him. He's not a person of color (he knows his heritage - 100% German) but kinda resembles one. He could be part Asian, Puerto Rican, etc.
At first I thought he was lying about being 100% White and was afraid that he was one of those White "purists", but Germans looking more exotic is actually a thing. (Yes I looked it up
