I been listening to so much MC lately. I had "The Roof" on repeat for the last 3 or 4 days.  And even ended up finding this.



This spontaneous mess I've never seen.  SING!

Her songwriting was the one weapon I used YEARS ago against a friend who stanned for Whitney...we'd always have a Whitney vs Mariah mess owt

and I'd give a  with her pen game every time to get a 1 up

I always felt that people overlooked the fact that she is such an amazing writer because she's just THAT talented as a vocalist alone. but bitch

The way her lyrics would have me running to a damn dictionary. Her music was always so pretty, melodic. Beautiful

Any writer should be able to appreciate the simple complexity of her mess.

A lot of people don't know, but I'm lowkey a Mariah stan.  I pretty much know her entire catalog, the back history, the stories, the lyrics.... etc.

I love all of her albums in some way from Daydream through Memoirs.  Even Rainbow. JDFJJSDAFJDASJFNnnnnnnn

Favorite song from my fav album from her.

Daydream is the album where she really STEPPED into her own. I can just tell. And I think I read it somewhere else as well that they allowed her to do her thing for the first time on Daydream.

I tried so hard but i couldn't get into her albums before it aside from a few songs here and there. All that constant BELTING and WAILING and mess - the "next Whitney" teas. Sent that shit to Foxy. She smoothed herself out sooo much with Daydream and just found this fucking amazing groove.

Maybe I am just looking too far into it but I always found it interesting how the last track on Daydream was "Looking In" and the other was "Outside"
