I just don't understand where this judgement comes from? I hear the same things Nick said about suicide all the time from quite a few people.
When Chester from Linkin Park died, my friend was like "How selfish, he has kids! What a coward!". And I remember when Robin Williams died my friend even said he did it for attention. Like, jeez, some people are so simpleminded. Like, what part of depression don't you understand. No shade to the suicide bashers here tho.

its not being simpleminded.   Its just there is so much about LIFE that is AMAZING.  take the so called mental illness out of it

yh if you?re a 12 year old girl and your reality is wearing a polka dot dress running through a daisy field with a balloon in your hand
No one wakes up wanting to feel suicidal or makeshift the snap decision to toss them self off a cliff for fun.
It can be a chemical imbalance in the brain,  or it can caused by massive emotional trauma.
Ever hear of bipolar disorder? schizophrenia?
For example, there are conditions where people hear voices all day long that are telling to kill themselves, some people hear voices to the extent they cant take it no more and decide to silence the voice by killing themselves.
Not everyone has the same mental capacity and people need to realise that.

its not being simpleminded.   Its just there is so much about LIFE that is AMAZING. take the so called mental illness out of it.  Like we are only here for a short time period.  Why would you hate your life soo much to want to die??  Ppl die all the time accidents sick etc and you choose to take a bunch pills or shoot yourself.  It is just HARD to grasp.  It is hard for me to feel sorry for that person.  As I said earlier I feel more sorry for the ppl that were left behind to deal with what happened.  I personally have dealt with a best friend who took his own life a few years ago and still question his decision so yeah

for some people when they lose their job, marriage, child, ect, saying "woo life is amazing!" wont quite FIX everything

right but there is help out there for you.  Im sure we have all lost something we loved a job or person etc but we find a way to get through it.  no lie life can SUCK never said mine was puppy dogs rainbows and unicorns but its how you get out of those situations is what matters.

. When you are depressed you are depressed. When you feel worthless even your own kids don?t matter anymore. And often meds or even a simple birth control pill can mess with your head. You are not yourself anymore, you can?t think clearly.

youre also saying like " oh youre depressed youre depressed thats it sorry " which is not the case.. if you can see it that way then you can see coming out on the right side of it as well.

Why would people commit suicide if they all would have the clarity to do what is best for themselves and their loved ones? It is not laziness to commit suicide. When you feel you don?t have a choice you will take the only option on your mind and that is suicide.

I have never felt like wanting to kill myself but I had some depressed moments and I?ve seen people around me struggle. It is not that difficult to understand why people want to just escape from life and pain. Try not sleeping for some days and there can already be a change in the way your brain works. It is difficult to focus, think and stay positive; you basically become an emotional zombie. Now imagine people having this all the time and then add some meds, or some voices and hallucinations. Add money problems, trauma, all kinds of horrible problems.
