Colorism is a form of insecurity though. And just because he didn't go around calling Black people coon and tarbaby etc doesn't mean he didn't consider lighter skin/Eurocentric features more desirable. The fact that he changed himself to look like a white person and did his level best to to produce racially ambiguous children kinda attest to that.
I think colorism can ultimately stem from insecurity sometimes. But colorism is more so an act of discrimination.
There are plenty of colorists and racists out there who are completely confident in themselves. So I wouldn't say it's a form of insecurity itself.
Saying Mike was colorist would be saying that he was discriminative against people who were darker, etc.
I'd accept someone just saying he hated
himself rather than saying he was colorist.
Now if he were caught making statements like , "I bleached because White is better", etc. Then I'd say he clearly knew what he was doing and wanted to make an offensive statement and belittle others in the process. That would be colorist/racist.
I don't even think he realized how far gone he was. His issues were that deeply rooted.
