My grandmother didn't know much about her father's side of the family (where this heritage actually comes from)

I got to see and interact with her LIVING relatives on that side for the first time. It meant a lot to me.
Close relatives. Not her 5th or 6th cousin lol.

Before all I really had was that pic of her grandmother . I know ya'll were tired of seeing it but it meant a lot to me.
Seeing them all really made me complete. I cannot explain it but I am finally at peace with this all now.

When all is said and done, I got what I wanted out of this all.

I'm kicking myself for not getting my grandmother tested sooner but it is what it is.
I was bored in North Carolina with hardly anything better to do anyway for most of that time.

I found the missing piece of my family. That means more and explains more to me than any DNA test could reveal.
Just by looking at them and seeing their faces I found my closure and got plenty of explanations. The DNA was an afterthought at that point.

#1 - I've never seen an African American score 10% Asian unless they had a close relative such as grandparent or great grandparent who is Asian. That's not a hint of DNA, Glock. It's abnormally high.

Dorian has a full blooded Asian grandmother and scored 13% Asian on his test.

#2 - If you read the link you'd also know that Scandinavian DNA is almost identical to Polynesian DNA and is confused by tests at times. She scored 7% Scandinavian.

As Lew pointed out, Polynesian DNA is a mixture not just Asian. It pulls from more than one place. So it could be grabbing from some of her African DNA as well.
