I really think it depends on where you live.

Yums was literallyyyy saying the same thing in the OP last week. We're from NYC. And here in NYC the experience is very different with certain communities. There's a lot of unity but there's a lot of divide as well.

It depends. That's why I think some of you are legit confused by some of this mess. Here in NYC it gets messy with certain things.

What does that have to do with ppl who look Afro Latino
denying their Black side? I don?t think anyone wants them to be JUST Black
but they are BLACK even if it?s half or whatever don?t say no I?m not
but it?s showing that in today?s climate more ppl are embracing their blackness

Because as I stated AA are very jealous of anyone who is connected to their heritage. Any form of celebration of that heritage is seen as denying you?re black. Amara ain?t the first to run this 8 mile stretch. Plenty of well know celebrities are black and Latin and proud of it.

Yea, where I?m from some blacks swear down they are part Indian etc. Its one thing to learn and respect your ancestry, but to claim it simply because you want to be seen as something else other than black is a disgrace imo

Why are Africans and AA the only 1s always giving me the 3rd degree?
Just assuming I?m all these other things and then when I break down my heritage (which I?ve stopped doing now) it?s like I knew you weren?t black
Y?all just have preconceived notions about islanders that aren?t pure black like most of the Haitians, Bahamians, the British virgin island gerls  or Jamaicans.
