This whole boycott is just self-serving on Mo'nique's part.
Her ego got bruised and now she wants to scream gender and colour bias!
Gorl, scram.

But isn't that always the case tho? How many of us are truly selfless and stand up to make change on issues that DON'T directly affect us or until it directly affects us? I've seen it here when it comes to trans issues. "Another tranny dead in alley doesn't affect my bottom line so...". "Should've did this or that, may be they'd still be alive."
I found myself rolling my eyes when fast food workers wanted $15 an hour. Why? Partly, because I don't flip burgers for a living. Doesn't mean their plight shouldn't be heard and that their argument isn't legitimate. Especially when you put it up against the revenue these fast food corporations make on a yearly basis. An extra 6 dollars, hourly is really a stretch?
I mean...500k for entity like Netflix to offer a NAME (and she will forever be a name, based off being one of only a handful of BLACK Oscar winners...FUCK DAT!) like Monique is ridiculous. Bottom line.
Terrible approach and SHIT husband/manager aside...
i think it?s best to speak for yourself in these situations
plenty of people speak out about issues all the time based on empathy alone
She isn?t obligated to do so, BUT if you?re going to specifically ask everyone to sacrifice something for YOU, then you might wanna be someone that has a reputation for service and sacrificing/standing up for others. Sorry
Which is why I posed it as a question. "How many of us....?"
I can only go off what y'all say. Same with Mo. You don't really kno if she has stood up behind the scenes for others or sacrificed. What you do know, is that she screams FOUL every time she's wronged.
But see, this is where she fucked up when it came to how she went about it. Asking people to boycott something that has become a permanent fixture in their lives was stupid. Cause now we're debating about "who has done what for who" and "where was SHE when...?." The underlining issue still remains. Whoopi say it yesterday, black women have to work twice as hard as their white counterparts, only to get half.
