Yay? I love Jessica but White Savior teas. Oh The lashing of Mo?nique is getting late. If you understand her point, why does the execution matter?

I?m convinced the internet is full of individuals with the inability to think for themselves.

It's unconditional, these days you know....

And again, I ain?t pacifying and apologizing for whiteness. And I damn sure won?t apologize for Mo?Nique doing what she feels the volition to do. You can love Mo and refer to every black woman in the world as a ?legend?, but if it ain?t showing up in a cheque it?s all void. You coming at me with respectability still, Rig. I can?t get with it, G.
im coming at you with common sense

You can speak up and speak out. If they?re being respectful to you (NetFlix was) then you should do the same.  Have you ever heard of negotiating? No one told her to take the 500K. I AGREE that they lowballed her, but that?s business. EVERY company starts off with a low offer if there?s no entity competing for your services. Show us why tf we should give you more :dead: she should have brought HBO into it

Amy, Dave and Chris rock had offers elsewhere. Trust me. That?s the difference

The other Black women on Netflix are slaying and will continue to. doubt they took the first offer they got, btw Lolz

Wow a negotiation without pointing fingers and calling everyone racist. Imagine that

what the fuck you call black women being underpaid in every industry called then?  :plzstop:

You are so much more intelligent than to keep pacifying whiteness and all that it entails.
My problem is with Mo pointing the finger at NetFlix without much proof. They called her a legend and gave other black artists MILLIONS

That was a Mo?nique Issue, not a black one. Yes Hollywood is overall racist and the situation with Octavia is disgusting but she made sure to get her coin FIRST and is speaking out in a completely different way

An impact will still be made. Mo?nique Is shaking the table but will she really make a big impact? Especially after ..  Again, telling everyone to boycott a site that LITERALLY supports quite a few black artists :kii: I?m not gonna say it again. That makes NO sense babe

NetFlix was nothing but respectful to her based on the conversation she specifically shared with us and she attacked them anyway. We can?t direct our frustration everywhere for every little thing because that actually softens the impact, that?s all I?m saying.
ya'll still goin blow 4 blow i see

do it in some mud guys lolz
nccncnncnc r u ...

And I?m here for the respectability politics conversation when it has something to do with something a bit more urgent.  :dead: sorry

QuoteThe Black Lives Matter movement is an example of a movement against respectability politics. The movement was motivated by the shooting and death of Trayvon Martin, an unarmed black teenager who was killed by a neighborhood watch member. The number of subsequent police killings of unarmed black men motivated a conversation about racial stereotypes and why certain racial stereotypes came to imply black men are "dangerous". The Black Lives Matter movement argues that people are deserving of rights regardless of "any ostensibly non-respectable behavior."[16] Instead of acknowledging and shying away from negative black stereotypes, the Black Lives Matter movement works to expand the concept of what it means to be "respectable" and argue that negatively stereotyped behavior should not be met with deadly force

Not Mo?nique Tryna fatten up that bank account. I?m super excited for Sanaa Lathans new NetFlix movie though. Oh and Shonda Rhimes? new deal ... whew, i bet she?s gonna be hiring black artists left and right to some hefty ass deals. Will Mo be a part? Stay tuned lmao!
