It's a really touchy subject.

I have a few gay Middle Eastern friends, and one of them just got married about 2 weeks ago. His family are all in Saudi Arabia, and of course they don't know he's gay or else all hell would break loose.

But as his partner it has to feel kinda strange that no one important in his life knows about you at all. Understandably so, but still.

On the other hand I really felt for my Arabic friend. To have such a special day and none of your family is there had to be tough, especially when his husband (who is White) got to dance with his mom and celebrate with all of his family.

It really got me thinking about this.

That's how my ex was. He didn't see the point of announcing he was gay but he really didn't care if he was seen w/ me or engaged in PDA.

i did have a bf who broke up with me cause he couldnt meet my fam for the holidays.. he cried and cried cause all his friends go to go to their BFS house but he couldnt come eat thanksgiving dinner with  my family... i tried to tell him that even if they KNEW that we STILL wouldnt be welcomed .. sighh
