I side-eyed #7 too :justabit:

Can't wait for Mo's next special. :feelinmyself: The fact that they expected her to not sign on for any other specials for a year or perform any comedy shows period that showcased the material that she would've drawn up for the Netflix special for a whole 2 years

All for 500k

Is ridiculous :plea:
That makes perfect sense and I'm sure is standard. Like she is turning away specials right and left anyway. When was Monique's last comedy special :dead:
This is my pass to say WHATEVER tf I wanna say about the mess she releases so I don't wanna hear SHIT! Baby mama is a mess of a song btw

ya rock muh world.

I didn't see that stipulation

Yeah if they were saying she couldn't perform elsewhere for a year, etc. then its understandable for her to want to negotiate. still dont agree with her throwing a race card when two black men got very good paydays but..

because honestly taxes are gonna eat up half of that 500K when all is said and done.

And she's a comedian (apparently a legend.......)
Write sumn specific for Netflix and that's it.  Shouldn't be too hard for a "comedy great"

AIDS

The terms are probably standard but the price tag attached to those terms makes things different IMO

ya rock muh world.

Mo'nique's naturally a kii but I don't think she's as creative as Chris Rock or Dave Chapelle.

she's funny but she's not comedic genius.

I mean I've seen Phat Girlz.....

I still think it?s a wrong move to leak it.

She could perform just not the Netflix material and no comedy specials for that time period (6 months or a yr, can't remember). I don't think that's asking a lot at all. Why would sum1 watch the Netflix special when they could go watch another........ of u performing the same material.  I feel like that's probably a standard thing when it comes to a comedian. Like certain jobs and professions have a non competitive clause. U can't work for us if you've worked for such and such company in the last yr, have u signed any deals with this or that company, etc. Same kinda shit

She can?t perform the material for TWO years after it airs. Not 6 months.

Ok. As a comedian you shouldn't be going around performing material that was shown on a platform like Netflix anyway. I'd be mad af if I went and saw a comedian and they doing the shit I saw on HBO last yr. Yea, I'm still not with her. Fck dis bitch

Queen did say she been doing that Lee Daniels, Oprah read for show after show so imagine if she would've included that in the Netflix special? She couldn't touch it for 2 years. Sure, it would challenge her as an artist

But like

Pay for that :plea:

ya rock muh world.

that makes sense. they're asking that she give them exclusive material to work with. not telling a joke there and using it again the next day for someone else . thats fair

i think monique has a case with the sexism thing...since it'll always be harder for women I suppose. but her throwing the race card doesn't sit 100% well with me...not when Dave Chapelle and Chris Rock..two black men...got decent pay from Netlflix.

you're rocking the boat and asking for boycotts ..but what about thinking about your two brothers who just got themselves a deal? have u reached out to them to talk to them about this? or are u too busy slamming netflix 6 feet under?

im judging by the shade that Dave threw as he received his Grammy..that she hasn't reached out.

SouravMay

she shoulda had somebody leak the information get all the "Oh women of color struggle" sympathy and snatch a nice 5 million deal with Amazon. dummy gur.

Also she said she doesn't care about the Oscars or the white acclaim, she doesn't want to cross over, she said she prefers the Image Awards, and the "chitlin circuit". Well damn then why you crying for Netflix recognition then?
