Even if whoopi has denounced being a comedian (which is dumb but we'll go with it), I'm sure it's not lost on her that a great deal of her celebrity is attached to being a comedian. Imagine the bitch whose name was one synonymous with the comic relief charity and has a grammy for a damn comedy album completely denouncing comedy

Just because a movie has a PRODUCTION BUDGET of $3 million, and made $7 mil at the box office doesn't mean the studio brought in $4 million profit. You aren't taking into account the promotional budget, which for this film was probably in the $3-5 million range given it did get a wide release. Posters, trailers, TV commercials, bookings, all cost a lot of money. If anything Phat Girlz lost money initially, BUT


DVD sales back then were strong and Phat Girlz made $18 million in DVD sales alone, not accounting for rentals which were also strong at the time.

So in the end, everyone in here is wrong, and Mo'Nique still needs to chill.
