I haven't watched but why don't the black Networks produce stuff like this and give variety?
TVOne ain't really working with the same budget as CW.
d

They aren't? EBT's budget >> CWS
All Black networks are cable networks.

Don't forget that CW is a product of CBS and Warner Bros.

Maybe not that network in particular but BET, for instance, is owned by Viacom and I know they have some budget. I just feel like it?s typiclaly the same romantic comedies they produce, which is fine, but what about other genres too?

It's risky for a network like that, even with the right budget.

CW actually has a history of drawing big audiences with their superhero series.
Supernatural, etc.
So it makes sense that they'd be unafraid to chart those waters.

It's a big gamble for a network like BET or TVOne.

Those productions aren't cheap if you want to do it right. So they'd be investing LOADS of money into something they have no experience in developing and launching it without a clue as to how their viewers would receive it.

The bttm line is that bet and tvone don?t have the budget for such shows.

You don?t see mtv or vh1 doing it either.

Even rich ass Oprah wouldn?t take the financial risk.

CW is backed by bigger networks. It can take a loss easily if needed.

They can afford to play ball a bit more. If they strike owt it's onto the next mess.

Young

I think shows like Black Panther and Luke Cage are gonna help open doors for more shows like it

Same with Black Panther in the film industry
