bitch

last time i was in southside queens i saw a white person walking their fucking dog down the block :uhh: :uhh: :uhh:

shit is getting real in NYC.

not even some of the white people can afford to stay in these bougie neighborhoods once gentrification's pissed all over it . and they're kinda forced to move other places they wouldn't normally go.

omf at the white person walking their dog in southside queens
:plzstop:

and yes!!
hence why they're going to the bronx... especially mott haven and other sections.
even as far as parkchester. its slowly changing.

i kind of blame our generation / millennials for this mess... i'm not saying they are the only factor but, new graduates keep moving in with 3-4 roomates paying $3800+ for rent... allowing landlords to keep the rents high... and higher (cause graduates will just get roommates to cover the price). there's no need to lower rents or stabilize them.  and the people who have lived in this areas for years can't maintain, forcing them out.

that makes sense. its crazy

A whole bunch of "hipsters" (mostly white) with 35-45k starting salaries living in apartments that really require at least $150k of income, stuffing themselves with roommates, creating this new 'wave' of arts, music, dance, etc. and then the next you know... new buildings! new cafes! new bars! walking the dog!

Plus, then you have higher income people wanting to find a new 'cheaper' place to live, which then raises the rent in that 'cheaper' area, etc.
