I think that really only works for artist with big buzz surrounding them
exactly. Most artists don't have the luxury of releasing whenever they want to before testing the waters a bit. Adele is guaranteed coin.

Albums in the 60s, 70s, and 80s used to be like 8-10 tracks.

sssssssss

they didn't have a choice
yes they did... there are some albums that came out during those times that were longer than 10 tracks. I own a number of albums from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. So I know. :uhh: Most artists in those times chose to put what they felt was the strongest material on the album. There were even some double disc albums (well two records) Stevie Wonder's "Songs In The Key of Life" and Pink Floyd's "The Wall". Fleetwood Mac's "Tusk" was 20 tracks and that came out in 1979.
I am scarred, so fucking scarred
These are the scars of me
The very fucking scars of me
This is my tragic heart
My tragic heart

whats testing the waters exactly, Herb?
just releasing one (buzz) single, then another (as most artists) and then the album to still have the same poor sales over and over? Lol
the testing the waters thing is just a urban legend.

Bentley!

Like wow ... She's really ready to mess again
she gave her all to 21

I already KNOW Water Under The Bridge is gonna end me

C'mon 'Dele :stressed:

Artists like her and Lana are seen as boring, but just really GET into them as artists gorls and feel what they're saying. Their albums >> .... don't fucking press skip, it ruins the experience
Like the white versions of Tweet and Brandy for me

Bentley!

And the way 'Dele's beauty has blossomed is crazy
Shes really gorgeous and slaying

That's how I am with Bey now ... Cause you never know when these hoes will pop up  :kii:

My theory in today's market is. You're not gonna get paid much and it's not the same guarantee of superstardom when releasing so grandly
So if you wanna mess then get everything together and MESS

Just like ppl gave up sitcoms for reality shows. Microwave times ppl

Every artist should be doing what Bey did tbh, or doing like 'Dele

Sis doesn't give a damn about a first single reception :dead:
Either listen to my mess or punch, but my alberm is releasing next month :dead:
Brilliant

I like Jazmine's music way more but I don't think it's a race thing. Her first era was successful but when that 2nd album flopped and she gave up, she kinda shot herself in the foot. Then she came back basically giving the same tea.
she didn't "give up" because it flopped

She was in an abusive situation

yea we found that out 3 years later. but that wasn't the public perception at the time based on the reasoning she gave. which is why doing that hurt her like i said
