I just had an incident with one of my supervisors at my job and I know I was not wrong. He clearly overreacted and went from 0-100.... And I?m not apologizing for standing up for myself.

People apologize all the time but turn around and do the same shit they just apologized to you for so I don't see the point.

I try to correct myself when I've wronged someone and actively make change instead of approaching them with some Hallmark words of sorrow mess.

It's crazy how most people have to be coddled. They're so easily offended.

Sometimes it's the simplest things that can make life so much more pleasant and repair relationships.

Listening is crucial. Communication is important overall. I've improved relationships with people very close to me simply by listening to what they feel, why they feel that way and taking all of that into consideration whenever I interact with them.

A little bit goes soooooo far. Crazy how just paying close attention to just a couple details, things that are SUPER easy to address/fix , can make a world of a difference. It's all about taking a step back, putting your pride and ego to the side and realizing what's more important.

Who wants a bunch of negative energy in their space 24/7? Or negative energy interfering with a relationship when it can be easily addressed? It's just not worth it. We're only given a certain amount of time here above the ground. Why spend it in negativity and nonsense.

I had my point of view on the situation and he said, "Afro, but I remember a time you told us that the way Black people were acting in front of Whites in your office made you uncomfortable".

I never said that. I said there was one woman in my office who had conversations with ME that made me feel uncomfortable, on a person-to-person level. Never mentioned that she acts a ghetto fool or like a jester for people. I don't work with Black people like that.

If anything I'm always complaining about how the WHITE people conduct themselves. With their use of Ebonics, tryna be down and mess.

So I took offense to him saying that, told him to shut the fuck up, told him to check the tapes before he decides to roll them, and corrected what he said. If he's in is feelings about that oh fucking well.

He has yet to even acknowledge that this all stems from him saying something that wasn't even true about me. Fuck him.
