An Arizona mother has been arrested for waking her teenage son up with a tazer because he wouldn't get out of bed for church on Easter Sunday.

Sharron Dobbins, 40, was charged with child abuse after allegedly using the tazer on her 16-year-old son's leg at their Phoenix home.

She told police that she only activated the stun gun to force her children out of bed for an Easter church service.

Dobbins maintains that she never actually tazered her son.

Police said Dobbins' other son, 17, and her 18-year-old nephew were in the room and witnessed the alleged incident. 

Her 16-year-old son didn't complain of any pain but did have two small bumps on his leg from where he said the stun gun shocked him. 

During a brief court appearance on Monday, Dobbins was ordered not to have any contact with her two sons, CBS 5 reports.

She told the judge that both her sons were on probation.

Dobbins added that her 16-year-old son was being electronically monitored.

'He has an ankle bracelet on,' Dobbins said. 'He's under my custody and everything.'

Dobbins was released on her own recognizance.

She is due back in court on April 16.

Parents can't even discipline their own kids without authorities getting in the middle of it. they didn't have 1-800-my mom beat my ass when I was growing up.
