I mean what's the benefit of signing on a major in 2018 for an R&B girl?

Getting to a major like Toni did to have a 8 song EP mess and where she probably earns 56cts per sale?

Even the BIG girls like Mariah or Ush open with 40k... We used to ki at 40k as well... Now it's common and pretty GOODt.

Mya said she gains like 6$ par album sale independently, right?

I'm not trying to be Left eye... But 40.000 x $0,56 OR 40,000 x $6... I think Ghan chose the right deal.

Epic proposed a deal. She did not want it. I respect her choice.
Atlantic, Epic, RCA... 3 different label ventures that did not end well.
At some point, you learn your lesson.

But yeah major labels really ain't shit for an established R&B artist like Bran.

She already has the fanbase and can always get promo and oppourtunities based on her legacy and accomplishments.

Plus creative control. ack-a!

Signing to a major label in 2018 is...reductive. Sure it has  its benefits, but a lucrative distribution deal >

Mya even recently said that even when signed to Interscope and with her commercial success, she was in debt, but her coin is STACKED now that she's Indie.  :ohwow:

Artists rarely ever see a dime from album sales. Their bread and butter has always been outside ventures (movies, touring, endorsements). Royalties if the song was a big crossover pop hit.

Sovereign.

Brandy?s bread and butter was clearly acting and her brand. That?s why at one point sis said she loved acting more if I?m remembering correctly.

From what I see, Brandy appears to be their most acclaimed artist which could benefit her tremendously. In the past, she's had to compete with other artists signed to the same record labels and a lot of the time was pushed to the back burner for certain promo opportunities. Let's hope they treat Brandy like the legend she is and really grind hard for her. She's making some good moves and if the music is top notch, Brandy will be back in the spotlight.

Has she said something about this?

I saw a video last week from backstage after a concert and she told a local journalist that she had her "meeting last night" and it's official that music is final on the way.
