But her broke beady bead head ass cleared the sample and she eating off it.

Oh ok.

She can?t even sing her songs in their original form, so how do you know she cleared it?

Touche, fag!

Because I honestly said the same thing to someone once before about her not singing songs in the original key. DJFJSDFNDSNFDFJjjjjjJ

But she's the sole writer on the track.  It's her's.  So, I doubt it.

Just because you wrote it, doesn?t mean you own it. You probably owns a very small percentage. If she owned it, she would be singing the songs in their original form.

Not necessarily.

Ok, so the only reason why I can see her not singing the songs in their original form is to avoid making the label money off of them. But at this point she should be allowed to perform her old material the way she wants. Something ain?t right. And if she cleared the sample, why would she be disgruntled? I doubt she did.

I do kinda agree with you, though.  I think there's some tea there.  Like, did we ever find out what happened with that big lawsuit over her album?  If we knew the outcome, we'd have some clarity.

But I do know a thing or 2 about publishing.  And if she wrote it, she owns the words.  And I did find it kinda odd that Drake and Cardi put out songs back to back sampling "Ex Factor".  So, Lauryn HAS to be at the very least clearing it because it's the words they're sampling.  Not the music.

But maybe Lauryn is not dissing him here?  It seems a little messy IMO, though.

Can?t you sample someone?s song if it?s not a direct copy, kinda like you can use a song on youtube in your vids. if you slow it down or speed it up?

The label doesn't own the music, the reason why she doesn't perform the originals is because she doesn't want the label to make money off the performances, she hates her old record label.
