Roseanne Barr apologizes for tweet comparing Obama adviser to 'ape'
The comedian said referring to Valerie Jarrett as an "ape" was a "bad joke" made in "bad taste."

Comedian Roseanne Barr has apologized for comparing Valerie Jarrett, a former adviser to President Barack Obama, to an "ape" in a Twitter post.

?Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj? Barr said in a tweet that has been deleted.
In another tweet, Barr apologized to Jarrett for a ?bad joke? and asked for forgiveness.
?I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans,? Barr said. ?I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me ? my joke was in bad taste.?
Following the rant, one of the show's consulting producers, Wanda Sykes, said she's done with the show.
"I will not be returning to @RoseanneOnABC," Sykes tweeted.
Wanda Sykes is following Whitney Cummings out the door of "Roseanne" ... adding to the apparent turmoil behind the scenes of TV's biggest sitcom.
Wanda kept it short and sweet, saying ... "I will not be returning to ['Roseanne']." The timing is VERY conspicuous, coming within an hour of Roseanne Barr's apology for calling an Obama adviser the product of "muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes."
Wanda was a consulting producer on the hugely successful reboot, which is returning for a second season -- but, clearly, with some producing changes.
Earlier this month Whitney, who was an executive producer, announced she was leaving because she was too busy with other projects.

ABC canceled its hit sitcom "Roseanne" on Tuesday after the show's biggest star, Roseanne Barr, went on a racist Twitter rant.
"Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show," ABC said. The cancellation comes just months after the show premiered to huge ratings.
