I'd feel sorry for the baby, that even though it's proven through research that smoking has a harmful effect on unborn children (and these facts have been pushed to the point where its become common knowledge), and I'm sure any doctor with a degree from an accredited university would strongly advise against it, that the mother still prefers her habit in place of the safety of her child.

Well if you'd feel like it's none of your business, what initial feeling would cause you to remind yourself of that? surely we don't look at everything and say "that's none of my business" to ourselves. There's an initial thought or reaction, then we usually remind ourselves after the fact that we are to mind our own affairs.

1) you dont know the person so it's disrespectful as fuck
2) it's not affecting you or any member of your family so why go through the trouble of basically calling someone an unfit mother and ruining their whole day

its very difficult to break a habit....overeating, undereating, smoking, etc.

its not that she 'prefers' her habit but in her mind she's thinking why go through the stress and withdrawal of quitting.....she's just going to take her chances and hope the baby doesnt turn out retarded
