I'd feel sorry for the baby, that even though it's proven through research that smoking has a harmful effect on unborn children (and these facts have been pushed to the point where its become common knowledge), and I'm sure any doctor with a degree from an accredited university would strongly advise against it, that the mother still prefers her habit in place of the safety of her child.

its very difficult to break a habit....overeating, undereating, smoking, etc.

its not that she 'prefers' her habit but in her mind she's thinking why go through the stress and withdrawal of quitting.....she's just going to take her chances and hope the baby doesnt turn out retarded
i agree that the word "prefer" shouldn't have been used.

novmbrchild

I read that you can actually drink, in moderation,  while pregnant and your baby will come out fine. so I'm sure it's possible to  smoke and it not effect your child, but to me it's like.... Why would you risk it?

Well if you'd feel like it's none of your business, what initial feeling would cause you to remind yourself of that? surely we don't look at everything and say "that's none of my business" to ourselves. There's an initial thought or reaction, then we usually remind ourselves after the fact that we are to mind our own affairs.

So what would your initial reaction be?

i would think ..
Look at that dumb ass bitch smoking while pregnant .. SMH

then say

YES can i get a number 1 no pickles add bacon with a sweet tea light ice and a large fryyy...

thank you.

So you'd feel that her actions are dumb.

That's what I was looking for "its none of my business" isn't a feeling. It's a statement

So you was looking for someone to agree with you? Oh okay.

Boomz

My auntie smoked while she was preg with my lil cousin. He's now 8 with asthma. He's had a couple asthma attacks severe enough where he had to be rushed to the hospital from school. When he plays with the other kids at family gatherings he gets winded quickly and starts wheezing.

We all know why he's like this but nobody in the family really talks about it.  :-/

Bentley!

I'd start beating her ass, punching her, kicking her in the stomach
She's endangering that lil baby by smoking

Boomz

If you see your neighbor slappin up his wife, of course it's none of your business...but y'all would be disgusted and concerned right?

I was looking for a feeling.

Someone could have said "I would feel indifferent" and  I would have accepted that.

But saying "I would feel like it's none of my business", to be honest it makes no sense. You're not addressing the feeling, you're simply stating the obvious. And it almost seems like more of a "smart remark" than a genuine reply to me.

And me and Nick aren't on the same page btw. He said that he would feel that the woman is dumb, whereas I would feel SORRY for the unborn baby. His feelings are more judgmental toward the mother whereas mine are connected with the child. So where exactly would our feelings align with one another?

Where do we "agree"?
