Goodies
Promise
Body Party
1, 2 Step
Lose Control
Get Up
Oh
So What
& I Bet, the last platinum hit from queens from just 2015

hits all across the last 2 decades

have longevity Ci

Goodies, 1, 2 step, and oh are from goodies and that shit aint her signature sounnd. She's done her best to try to remove herself from crunk and B.  Lose Control and So What are not ciara songs and are NOT her signature sound  :dead:
Body Party and I Bet weren't hits
What hits did she write that are her signature sound again? :dead:
BP & IB weren't hits? Foh. Most definitely were hits. Lis forgot to mention
Promise
Like A Boy
LSM
NE
Ride etc.
All those songs did 30 million plus at radio. Which is a big feat especially in that time period. With small digital sales(niggas didn't exactly run to iTunes when they got the mp3 for free from youtube) but hey.
We dont care about radio impressions. What did the songs do on the fckn CHARTS

be patient with Tonk..
She?s ....well...
SLOW

But Tonk's never been "at a lost for words" liek your confused ass has he?

Come again?

Guys

the bottom line is Ciara's next single is sampling this

:uhh:

Beyonce has become more endearing in her music than ever before, Rih pushed herself sonically with the production used on ANTI and Ciara is over here samplng songs from Vine

This is the exact reason this girl got left behind back in '08

Now wait a fucking minute...I didn't know sampling songs had an expiration date? Wow you learn something new everyday! Damn didn't know you had to sample from a specific format or place either. Gosh thanks guys for putting me up on so much game.

Damn diddy, kanye and em shouldn't have sampled them old, late played out ass records from the 50's, 60's, etc they were 3 years too late lmao
You missed the entire point :dead:

FlowerBomb

not lowering your standards to 1 semi-hit single per era :dead:
Where did her album place? Why couldn't she finish her tour? She couldn't she sell tickets?

damn

I'm so interested to see if she FINALLY gets it. Rihanna & Beyonce (or their team) stay in tuned in whats going on with our culture and it show all through out their music and imaging. Also, they both stay in tune with their fan base wants.  We all get a sense of who they are through their music, with ciara it's not the same feeling.  Her music hasn't really showed much growth in some years.

I recently re-read this review billboad did on Jackie and they were so on point:
QuoteFor R&B singer Ciara, whose sexy turn-up jams have always been more style than substance, splitting with her baby's father, rapper Future, last August seemed like a ripe opportunity to finally open the emotional blinds and let people in[/b]. And sure enough, "I Bet," the first single from her sixth album Jackie, seemed to do just that. "Is that your bitch over there, giving me the ugly stare?" she sings, presumably referring to the alleged infidelity that ended their relationship....

But that's one of the few seemingly genuine moments on Jackie, which, despite being named after her mother, feels oddly impersonal. Instead, the album is mostly a robotic retread of the party-scoring fare of prior releases, but without the memorable hooks and irresistibly kinetic production. Since debuting with 2004's Goodies, Ciara, 29, has made her career on self-empowering dance scorchers and seductress anthems, and on Jackie she once again hits the club, cozies up to new beaus and thumps her chest along the way.

QuoteJackie invokes the uptempo optimism of 2013's triumphant Ciara, but feels a little too familiar: "Hair pulled back, high heels, you gon' know about it by the end of this song," she sasses in signature fashion on "Kiss & Tell," but it's safe to assume most listeners already knew

Quote
Maybe Ciara is at her best when her music's carefree -- but on Jackie, it sometimes seems like she doesn't care. Perhaps she was afraid to confront the realities of true heartache, or perhaps she has simply moved on. Good for her, but not as good for listeners: Jackie feels like a missed opportunity for a talented artist to connect with fans in a new way.

And with this new Megan Markle  level of perfectionism she is giving, i dont see ciara letting us in & connecting with us anytime soon.
Ok I will give you this. 100% and it didnt sound as if you were coming from a hateful place making your point.

But look at it from this angle, maybe she is doing this, this era because she has a happier reality to "face" this time and that seems to be when she thrives. I know it probably took a lot for her to try to open up about the future situation because she didnt want people(him included) to see her down and out. But with Russell, she may not have a problem letting people in because it's something she's proud of. Hence people asking about "that prayer" BS, her response can be through the music example, Level Up, I love Myself, etc...(And I peeped the tag from her publicist that said "Unconditional Love") that may be the route she is going, and this time it could possibly work. All about perception.

Ride was Top 10 and I Bets went platinum. Hits every album cycle.
Any other ci wanna piggy back off this before i respond

It did go top ten. I mean this with all respect, but just recently in a brandy thread we called Put it down a hit(and it is) that went #1 urban but peaked in the 60's. Let's not act obtuse.
