hotep.

Paula still needed a good dragging for that Vibeology performance.

Nip lowkey stanned for Janet and used to perform her songs.

Music Box, Daydream, and Butterfly are Mariah's holy trinity. :stressed:

I think Cissy was a bit pissed the "I'm Your Baby Tonight" album didn't slay as hard as "RN18" with that New Jack Swing sound

!!!!!

That's what I got from that. I'm Your Baby Tonight underperformed in comparison to her first two albums.

Imagine being insecure after selling diamond and setting the standard for female artists.

Wow.  I?m always amazed by the legends being vulnerable or insecure about their success.  It makes them seem human.  Like when Mariah said she wanted the respect the streets gave Mary, even though she was ten times the success Mary was.

Wonder if Cissy knew about Janet and Bobby.

Awww Kween. :stressed:

But Mariah always wanted to incorporate hip-hop into her music. Tommy hinder her from doing so. Crazy thing is Daydream is her magnum opus. She received universal acclaim for that album than any of her earlier work. Same with Butterfly.
I was just telling my friend about Daydream. That?s probably my favorite Mariah album.

Black people sometimes don't know how to appreciate someone's voice unless they're doing long runs and riffing. Janet wouldn't be critiqued as much for not having a huge voice if she were white. Whitney and Janet loved each other tho.

Janet's a better singer than Britney so that's not a fair comparison. I'm talking about singers like a Sheryl Crow for instance. She doesn't have power vocals but she has a nice voice and isn't critiqued for not being able to sing like Adele used to..
