There are plenty of Black men who aren't on the hunt for "exoticals". I see it on my timeline everyday - Black men with their Black girlfriends.

But I get what Almond is getting in general. The Black man is usually upheld as the ultimate symbol of manliness and sexiness whereas his female counterpart gets the shorter end of the stick . When it comes to the media, etc.

We can't act as if we're not seeing a Black women being attacked every other week on here, based on pretty much nothing but how Black she looks.

I think we suddenly get amnesia whenever it's really time to discuss colorism, then go back to calling people darkies, soot and nappy headed hoes once the cloud passes over.
