This isn't based on sales.
This is based on chart position points of each artist's career.

So a 500,000 selling song (spending 10 weeks at #1) could be higher than a 1,000,000 selling song (spending 1 week at #1).

Actual sales >>
This is what i figured which is why i was confused about why units were being mentioned :dead:
This is billboard they're not adding up units.  So please lets not applaud too loud for a bitch who has 90 entries on 70 people's songs and only a handful of her own successful songs  :dead:
This is my pass to say WHATEVER tf I wanna say about the mess she releases so I don't wanna hear SHIT! Baby mama is a mess of a song btw

And can we just talk about the ICON that is Madonna? Constantly evolving and releasing great content. It's no wonder she's #1 :oof:

She gets on my fckn nerves, but she can't be denied.

QuoteIn honor of her return, here is a look at the U.S. sales of Elliott's albums, according to Nielsen Music:

2,142,000, Under Construction (2002)
1,767,000, Miss E ?So Addictive (2001)
1,221,000, Supa Dupa Fly (1997)
1,068,000, Da Real World (1999)
705,000, This Is Not a Test! (2003)
657,000, The Cookbook (2005)

With 7.6 million albums sold in the U.S., Elliott is not only a trailblazer, but a record-holder, reigning as the best-selling female rap album artist in Nielsen Music history.

Wow

So what you're saying is, either way NIcki planked on all deez hoes

Including Pissy?

I'm saying I prefer hard sales list.
Not inverse point systems... which Billboard uses, cause prior to 1991, there was no soundscan system to REALLY know how much people sold. So they do 100 points for #1, 99 points for #2, and so forth.

It's misleading.

An album peaking at #1 for 5 weeks... but selling 1 million could be positioned higher than an album peaking at #25 and selling 4 million.   Obviously the 4 million album did better in actual sales. But Billboard is using the points system to structure the chart. So I don't think it holds much weight.

That's the only reason why she probably made the list.
She has enough charting "points" to do so.

But I'm sure Missy's "Work It" has outsold 30 of songs combined.

Furthermore, if they used actual sales, Toni Braxton would def be higher than #27.
Her first two albums alone....
