?More dangerous than any words that come out of Lil' Kim's mouth are the forces of repressive puritanical morality that seek to silence her."

Damn it sounds like she had to fight against something that could have stifled her career because she was a woman

waittt so does this mean that if she indeed rapped like Latifah and Lyte, she wouldn?t have faced any adversity? But then who would storm thru demanding that women be able to rap about their bodies and sexual escapades the way men do, equally??? my head hurts

Lean into it, Lonz!  :kii:

I love this board

There is an imagined way in which folk think feminism works and it just doesn?t work that way especially when it comes to black feminism. Kim challenged respectability along with Trina and you could argue Khia as well. Kim being most profound when it came to lyrical prose, fashion and art holistically.

Yh it's clear the gear switched when you realized you were fighting a losing battle and tried another angle
self-objectification!
it's the same damn argument :uhh: :dead:

Even her Grammy award winning verse and only ORIGINAL aspect of the Lady Marmalade remake fully displays the role she played in the new wave feminist.

And we were talking about whether she was seen as a feminist
is this another angle?

The topic here is young impressionable Black kids who are subject to the promotion of nonstop sex, materialism, drugs and violence.

So I'm assuming that based on the convo in here you gorls would allow your nieces to listen to and recite Lil Kim lyrics.

Girl these angles. fjdhdhdhdh

just admit Kim is legend and move it along yeesh
dd was there misunderstanding here?
