These media outlets are very aware of what "triggers" people and damn near forces them to engage. Which is why you see plenty of "woke" videos all over Facebook, etc. with outrageously dramatic titles.

I'd say that .01% of them actually care about the struggle itself, but know that everyone is either race or sexuality crazed these days and cannot help but engage. Which translates to clicks, views, and ultimately more ad revenue.

Yeah, it's annoying and can be really offensive.

But I try to keep in mind that these things are deeply embedded into the community. No one wakes up one day and decides to be afraid of gays or that homosexuality or femininity in men is unacceptable. These are things that are taught - either directly or indirectly.

So it's not so simple as hoping Daquan will wake up tomorrow with a different state of mind. I try to have understanding before I lash. Hetero Black men in the community are ultimately victims themselves IMO. Just as gang banging and materialism has been been pushed down their throats in hip hop for years, so has homophobia. Being super masculine. If you're not a thug, you ain't a real man, etc.

IMO there are bigger catfish to fry in the community - like Black business ownership but this mess is pretty high on the "let's dig in a bit" list as well. The answer isn't to take out the claws soon as we see someone bashing gays IMO. But trying our best to have a good conversation with them and educate them. If it continues to be this back and forth of insults, and lashings and "Nigga you probably gay yourself! That's why you so uncomfortable LMAO! DL Fag!", etc., this mess will continue to go nowhere.
