She does look super happy though.

I just think their choice of scenery was just.....bad.

But maybe that could speak why White parents may not be the best fit for Black kids in 2018.
I think based on how old they are this was definitely intentional
maybe not with malicious intent but, no way did they not know the connotations of
a little black girl picking cotton. They probably were recreating something their great grandparents or someone did
I don't think it was intentional.

They're old but it's not like this photo was taken in 1890 or something.

I just think that a lot of White people don't think very far.
A POC is more likely to catch onto a potentially shady or disastrous situation unfolding because we're used to pulling out our radar.

White people do dumb shit like this all the time.

Now if the girl had a bag with her, and they had snaps of her collecting cotton as they watched her...then I'd really have to question intent.
They're just dumb IMO. lol. Blissfully unaware of what they were setting up.
plea.

They know exactly what they were doing. Y?all would be naive to think otherwise. Explain to me a time in history was being in the cotton field a good time for someone of color? Betty Sue and Earl knew damn well how this picture would look. Of all the scenes they could have picked and I?m supposed to believe they chose this one without ill intent?

It's unconditional, these days you know....

Young

Young

And they have her hair looking all cute and healthy
Twisted up nicely and naturally .

Not a damn watermelon
I?m not sure what I?m feeling about this , but i think it?s confusion

:uhh:

That's the big question for me ..

Is this their field or did they actually pick this scenery out?

It would make a huge difference to me.

Got her posed up with a baby watermelon, holding it like it?s a pet ...

Yeah...kinda puts it to rest for me. They did this shit on purpose.

whats the issue?

!!! Right. And if they didn?t realize how this looked, then they still have no business raising this child.

Child protective services would be called...

It would add a lot of insight IMO

But who randomly grows cotton in 2018 sbdbsbbsbb

Um, a lot of people.... I live in the Memphis, TN area, now, and there are a lot of cotton fields here and the sorrouding areas.

It wouldn?t make a bit of difference. If this couple is that blind to the history of black people in this country and that insensitive, then they do not need to be raising a black child.
