See the word usage here? See how you confirmed what you were saying was indeed a RECORD. You're saying Nicki has set, achieved or reached a milestone that nobody has been able to surpass. The keywords in these posts are beat and challenge. You're saying no female rapper has been able to match or suprass what Nicki did. Basically you're saying that she holds a "record". In order for this to be accurate she would need to take the record from Lauryn first. That's why I asked you how was it a record.

I am asking you to explain it in the way you're using it...like this:

record - at a higher level than ever achieved before:

record - the best or fastest ever done

record - The best performance or most remarkable event of its kind

Does 2nd place make any sense here? 2nd place is not the TOP or the BEST and if it were at a higher level then it wouldn't be SECOND place. It'd be first.   

I never said that no one was able to surpass 2nd highest female rapper of all time. Clearly Lauryn would be the victor if that were the case.

What I specifically said was, we haven't seen any higher numbers for a female rapper's debut since Pink Friday.

Now, is that a lie or the truth, based on records we're able to pull up. You know, those things we call "receipts".

That's still not a record in the way you were using the word earlier on in the thread.

You went from "an achievement nobody has been able to match or beat" record to "information being documented/recorded and kept it in a filing cabinet somewhere" record.

You don't aim to beat or challenge somebody in 2nd place..you aim for first..because that's the record.

I asked how is coming in 2nd place a record to make sure you were referring to Nicki
