No, guilting people into doing the right thing is sometimes necessary.   :letsmessfag:

I get it but I think political education needs to be pushed more than compulsory voting for career politicians. Barking on people about why they should vote while offering little to no info on any policies or legislation in jeopardy is kind of pointless.

I agree with this.
But that's why I'm also upset.
I've tried talking about/providing resources for some of them to be in the know.

But ppl would rather talk about their boyfriends, etc.

If I?m being honest, I still do kinda feel like ?don?t vote, don?t complain?, but I also see why many blacks feel apathetic to voting. I?ve seen all these politicians running on various paltforms, and very few have any kind of platform to benefit black people specifically, usually as a very small priority. Most don?t have any platform for blacks at all, and I don?t think it?s wrong to want a specific political agenda for your group. So if no politician is catering to your group, why vote at all?

There's a little bit more of representation NOW than ever before. Especially black women. So all it takes is googling to see who's on the ballots and saying "Oh, lemme go vote for my sista/brutha just to get em a seat at the table" if that's what's keeping black people from voting.

That's another thing I have to consider.
I don't know what it's like to live in a Red state.
In NYC, democrats rule.

So I can understand other people's perspective on this.

Sometimes I have to remember we kinda live life in a bubble (so to speak) in NYC.

For me, it goes deeper than that. I?m not clapping for folks going up for Abrams in Georgia or that dude in Florida just because they?re black. Black people imo need to stop being content with symbolic reparations of power ?Black faces in high places?.

I wanna know your background, voting record, your platform...what are you going to do for my people?

Yeah, I agree in addition to that. You still have to find out WHO you're voting for.

I feel pressured to vote democrat just because you know... we black and whatnot but there's this one republican in NYC resonated with me when I heard him speak... he gave me liberal disguised in red and I gagged. He could've gotten my vote lol

LOONA.
