African Queen

FlowerBomb

and according to the comments that's not what the word means

RAY7

This woman was wrong for what she said
however the person that made the video is very blind I guess
because the disrespect goes both ways. Black Americans definitely see ppl from any part of Africa as poor, dirty, ugly etc no one is innocent we need to just get along

yummy

the elitism in non American blacks is DEEPLY ingrained and the wildest part is they don?t seem have this kind of disdain for white people aka the people who colonized their home lands and displaced a lot of their elders

:udontlookok:

FlowerBomb

ugh dummies
that's not what she even meant

QuoteYoruba is a metaphorical language. Many of the words were created centuries ago and where not meant literal. The literal definition for Akata is wildcat. But it means a person who is not born in Africa because of slavery. Oyinbo literally means man with the peeled skin. But it meant to describe a white person. Overtime, Africans took these words and used them in rude tones and the context may have changed a little because of the hostility between Africans and African Americans. But in most cases when people say this it?s not meant to be disrespectful.

We have a similar word in Twi to decisive black people not born in Africa called "Akaesta", it literally means "untamed horse", or "wild breed" but it's not used or meant in a pejorative way
all this hoopla for nothing

Yes she did.

Just like Black Americans lie when they say Africans are ugly spear chucking savages of some sort.

And the person that made this video is fucking stupid. Can she not read context or...?

The context in which sis said 'Akatas' is akin to how someone would say 'dumb bitches' in jest. Doesn't mean she actually meant it.

What a dummy.
