Naw. He is definitely a good singer but not the best of his generation. A truly great singer would have the ability to cross genres and he doesn?t have the ability to do it. Shit, I don?t think he ever even attempted.

Some of the r&b greats have done just that: Mary, Faith, Brian McKnight etc

You didn?t quite understand. But that?s okay. No one is talking about ?crossing over?. A great singer can sing ANYTHING and still be great. Mary is an r&b singer but was able to sing gospel, jazz and even country and still be amazing. Not stuck in a box, if you will
