Moderately successful R&B?With album plaques in 3 different decades.

There is no need to go backwards and forwards. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and you have to agree to disagree. Brandy and Monica will forever be that kind of subject. They are our generations Patti and Aretha, Whitney and Mariah, and Brandy and Monica. It's just the way the cookie crumbles and will continue to crumble.

Monica is Very successful. People measure success differently. Monica isn't lazy she knows how to balance her professional life and her personal life really well. She has been able to deliver hits for the past 3 decades consistently. She's had a Number one album several top 10 albums, multiple number one hits on both the hot 100 and R&B Chart, she continues to break records (been doing that since day one) she is still the youngest African American to win a grammy and she continues to sell out shows. She is a force in the R&B game and no one can ever deny her that.

I think the cool thing about it is that she is able to still live her life and be a dope ass mom to her kids and an amazing person. She gives the best hugs and when you speak with her you literally forget all about her being MONICA she is very humble.

#Chapter38 will be her best era yet!!!

Monica?s impact ain?t that.    I keep telling y?all... aside from "The Boy is mine? she was just a moderately successful R&B chick.   Nothing groundbreaking or iconic abt anything in her career.    It?s no shade just facts.

Really? She has more number one hits than most rnb legends.

And Despacito is one of the longest #1 song ever - and?

I think Brandy fans downplay Monica?s impact and Monica fans overhype it. Monica had a great career and was a terrific singles artist- she accomplished feats Brandy did not.

But album sales>>>singles and that will never change. Brandy had a huge cultural impact which doesn?t require explanation. How many awards have we watched Brandy accept vs Monica? Brandy?s impact currently resonates in today?s R&B.

Monica has done a fantastic job adapting to social media, but that has more to do with her personality than her business savvy and talent. I think Brandy and Monica fans clash because, to some degree, they possess something we wish the other had.
