She pretty much is a Hillary Clinton, tied to big corporations who influence politicians. She also believes in that bipartisanship bullshit and forgiving republicans. Most of the younger generations of folks are opposed to these things.

Politics isn't all about appealing to your core base of supporters. It's about serving the country as a whole, with a wide swath of views, beliefs and opinions and trying to find some common ground. Ocasio-Cortez and her democratic socialist message alienates a LARGE section of the party. If Nancy were to start saying the things Cortez are saying, MOST of the whites would abandon the Democratic party and the Republicans would win election after election.
