Until her music is improved, she'll remain a flop despite the label. A lot of the singles she's put out are redundant and sub par.
You do realize that some of the issues with her music are in part because of RCA right?
She's a brilliant artist
A lot of mainstream artists go thru that phase when their labels try to make them more Pop and mainstream. Some artists excel at it (like Rihanna did - from reggae to Pop on GGGB) and some suffer (like Ciara and Tinashe). RCA def had a huge role to play I agree, but Tinashe was never POPPIN like that to begin with. She legit only had that one big hit with 2 On and still only sold like 18k. Its not like a Ciara who had smashes and #1 records and millions of albums sold then had an era like Fantasy Ride that her team fucked up.
Theres a disconnect. Whats missing I think is that she needs to tell some kinda story. What do we know about her? What are her struggles? Her music isnt personal and the GP dont know her story. Theres a reason why Ariana is now all of a sudden having #1s and artists like Queen Naija b making a splash.
!!
That's what it's all about. That's why Ciara resurged, truly, because ppl know her story and relate to it. The same way Housewives need a storyline every season, celebrities need to give the public something personal from them to talk about.
It's not just about being pretty and talented anymore. I actually don't think any major star has ever thrived off only those merits.
She tried with the Ben Simmons saga but it's not enough
