I really don't think her approach has been that unsavory. What has she done to repulse people from supporting her? I don't understand the need to constantly be on the defense when she pops up with a new, viral interview

I think she fumbled the ball a lot in her campaign.

In order for people to really stand behind someone they have to believe that they know what they're talking about IMO.

The person should come off as very informed and aware - not only aware of the issues at hand but self awareness is key as well if the person is beginning a campaign BASED on a personal experience of their own. Ultimately they're assuming the role as a leader of some sort. People are more likely to follow those who they have the utmost confidence in.

For me personally, I lost confidence in Mo'nique when she didn't seem to know her numbers and how they relate or compare to other people in the industry such as Chris Rock, Dave Chapelle, etc.
I've seen you say that before, but do you truly think that's a strong enough reason to dismiss everything Monique is fighting for? I don't remember everything about the Breakfast Club interview where she said she was on par with them. But ultimately, her point was to prove how black women get the worst deals in business and scarcely have the opportunity to reach the level of a Chris Rock.

She might have been misinformed about the numbers, but she is one of the most recognizable female comedians of the last 3 decades. She is one of the top of her class and that's without having Jewish ppl hold the reigns of her career (see: Tiffany Haddish). If she's a top girl and getting mistreated or undervalued, that only speaks to her point that the black women under her need someone to stand up for what they deserve in business

She said Netflix told her that Chris and Dave were legends and she asked, ?why shouldn?t I be getting what the legends are getting??

Sounds like she thinks she should be getting paid the same to me

yummy

I don?t think that entitles her to making the same amount of money, seeing as the legends are currently bringing in more revenue from other projects...

I?m sure they did but not all legends are equal in popularity and earning potential

lied on Netflix then tried to flip it into a "I'm doing this for future generations" mess when it didn't work. then tried to be disrespectful and bully anyone who questioned her motives. she's just using this issue to pander, much like a politician.

representation matters. i fully support the fight against inequality in hollywood, monique just ain't the bitch to lead the charge. lying blackballed self.

"If I don't make any money, my kids and grandkids suffer.." Steve, your family is set! lol At least they should be. And I'm sure Mo is set too. She knew what she was doing when she called those people out. They disrespected her and blackballed her, so why should she hold her tongue? This is the same man that endorsed Trump. Sit back! Be quiet! And do what the white man says! Ch...

He has never endorsed Trump, btw. Why do y?all think that? Because they were in the same room?  He doesn?t agree with just anything Trump is doing. He never liked Trump. He was preaching about how everyone needs to get out to vote or we?ll have to deal with Trump being in office.

Trump and people brought a few black leaders and celebs to the White House. They obviously thought they were going try and build a bridge with Trump, get him to know what issues are important to them.  And they were just used as props.  But it bothers me how quickly black folks were willing to believe the president?s narrative that he has all these black celebrity fan, when they weren?t there because they liked his campaign. Only Kanye?s loopy @ss...

Amanda Seales is just as indignant as Monique, if not more so. I had to stop watching her stories because ALL she would do is complain :plzstop:

Monique has a history of work that speaks for itself. She has been in the business for a longer time than most. Her story matters most

Also, when did she flip the script? The moment she called out Netflix she followed it with statements about gender/racial bias. That is the same purpose or message she's peddling today.

It just seems like a classic case of black ppl tryna dictate other black ppl, in favor of the Eurocentric society that we live in

nah nah, i think you got me wrong.

I fully support a STAND UP, BE HEARD & SHAKE THE FUCKING TABLE mess when necessary & justified. it is not here. THATS the issue.

I'm saying she flipped the script when no one was buying the claim that she was a victim of racial/sexual discrimination at the hands of netflix, then it turned into "oh it's bigger than that, I'm fighting for future generations if hollywood" mess.

and it's not even SO much her approach as it is I just think she a FRAUD. we're only talking about her because of the Netflix mess. but that was not a case of sexual/racial inequality. so if that's the basis upon which she is "speaking out" and it was all a crock of shit, that makes her a crock of shit as well. simple mathematics.
