This is the worst of the popular black sitcoms to me 

so corny until the later seasons. & it def would've gone nowhere without king

Well the show was a spin off for Harriett's character on Perfect Strangers.  Urkel kind of overshadowed that concept but it was needed because the show really lacked comedic timing in the beginning

I just checked - Urkel actually entered in the first season.

Yeah they lucked the fuck owt. Cuz I was legit wondering how this mess I'm looking at in the intro made it past one season to begin with.

That had to be hard to deal with though. They'd been working their entire lives to get to their own show and to have it snatched a bit...that cannot be easy. But still. Pull a Kelly Rowland and ride that shit owt

Yeah, Steve came in and saved the day. And after QUEEN Myrtle re-appeared in the later seasons, Harriette said enough is ENOUGH and exited the show.
