I think it's very important to embrace ur ancestors....u are a sum of their contributions to ur DNA. Without even just one of these contributions u would not exist.

Most African Americans have anywhere from 15 to 30 percent of white DNA in their streams anyway .... Due to the rape during the transatlantic slave trade. That's why Even people who have two black, brown skinned parents can randomly come out with grey eyes....lighter sk23in etc. DNA is highly unpredictable .

You cannot be so quick to dismiss the impact that these slavemasters and slavery era mixing had on us as people. DNA continuously gets passed down. Its the traits that'll sometimes pop up, and sometimes won't.

Tom Joyner's green eyes came from his 5th great grandfather. NO ONE else in his immediate family has those eyes. Sometimes it's not about the PERCENTAGE that gets diluted with generations.....Don Cheadle has more European blood in him (by percentage) than Tyra Banks. Does it look like he does?

I really don't understand what he's getting at. He didn't say that he doesn't want his son to be identified as white. He's simply saying that he wants his son to be reflected of both sides of his racial identity. He wants his son to be identified as "mixed" or "biracial" because simply he has a white mother and a black father. But I already have my own views on Taye Diggs after I met him after he did that horrible ass performance in Hedwig. But yeah, he's a fucking dummy and he hates the fact that he's dark skinned. The only thing that really matters is what groups actually contributed to your DNA
your ethnic makeup.....whether it was African, Asian, Native, European ancestors... whatever
everything else is a fucking wild card.

Sometimes percentages and generational dilutions of DNA "make sense" when we physically se people, but a lot of times, they do not. They're not supposed to , because that is not how DNA operates.

tbh I feel like alot of the times our perceptions are influenced by history and the one drop rule. Like with Obama people say he looks more black, but  if you really give a comparison mess Obama resembles his white grandfather more than his black daddy.

I think when people say he looks black, they're going off of him as an individual. I've never seen his grandfather and don't know what his mother looks like. But he has features which are known to dominate black men. The nose, those lips that round boovy...his hair (which he keeps shaven), etc.
