Bruce

It is soooo sad to watch black women who are truly unhappy with their appearance and complexion. I just do not understand this AT ALL. People like her and Lil Kim are so sad to watch publicly. Always looking for bright lights to hide their complexion or always using a damn filter.

NY has never struck me as the type to be insecure about her skin color

She would never do that. Do y'all not remember her lashing Claudia Jordan Laura Govan about colorism?  :uhh:

New York never struck me as the type either. In retrospect she always seemed pretty low key "woke"...the way she'd lash Buckwild for her nonsense , etc. sffsfsfs

But at the same time, I think Laura's comment didn't deserve a lashing. I think if the question was "I think we need more dark skinned people on the show", no one would blink an eye about it.

But I get why New York went off. Lighter skinned/mixed people already have such a platform when it comes to the Black community. So to ask a question like that, you're definitely asking for pushback. I think Laura realized that but it was too late...immediately after it slipped out of her mouth she caught herself and was like, "Wait..was that racist". sfsddssdf

She knew she fucked up. But it was already out there. I don't know much about Laura though ... maybe there's other instances of her making edgy comments that made New York check her on this one in particular.
i agree  :ohwow:
