She's the Queen of Rap, her influence is music and fashion is still recognisable and noted.
Her reign lasted in the mid 2000's, she isn't some obscure artist from the 70's that you have to LOOK for, her video's and music somewhat are, and were still in heavy rotation even after her prime. She still has articles written about her style of music, fashion. The gorls dress up as her and post the tea on social media, and a big part of Nicki's career was a diss track to Lil Kim, her whole being and music is a homage to Lil Kim homage  it makes sense for the new girls to reference the original, since the copy is a bitter bitch that doesn't like emerging female talent, "I'm only black rap bitch in the village" self.

I mean, Nicki was inspired by Kim. She said it time and time again but, to me, musically - as far as cadence, flow, lyricism is concerned... She was always a baby Fox. Honestly, at the start of her career when she was releasing mixtapes she was definitely the female Weezy. The animation, the flow, the punchlines and metaphors... I don't get the Nicki hate. I think she did what she had to do. She has had an amazing career and has reached heights that no other rap girl has.
