Prisoners should have the right to vote.   (I do think there should be some stipulations on who.  A criminal is a criminal but the crime he or she commits should also dictate the penalty as does the sentence.  So yes; there are degrees of criminality)

The Bigger issue is the fact that there are thousands of people in jail who have a pre-trial status and there is not enough legislation or reform around making sure they have their vote cast (they are still guilty)

No one really addresses it because it perpetuates black voter supressions because we all know the number in which our people a(or most of our people) are jailed

I guess if you're jail because of an ACCIDENT you deserve to vote.

But 90% of criminals should not be able to vote. Like what's the point?  A criminals mind is not right enough to vote.... HOWEVER.
It can be argued that a great percentage of people on the outside shouldn't have the right to vote but we cant keep a tally on them.... which would probably be 99% of white southerners

I think the larger issue here is the fact that folks believe that criminals should be stripped of their rights

It's not hard to separate one crime from another. I don't know that a serial killer should have any rights at all tbh

it def gets complex ..
I just imagine how unfair it is to be stripped of your rights based off of your past..
And how it can be argued that a criminal is a criminal

So if some should be able to vote.. they all should ..
But terrorist should be treated differently as a whole imo
To go against your country or to commit a terrorist act on Americans.. u kinda should be placed somewhere else and used for research imo
