i get it. many prisoners may have family on the outside that they want to look out for. in that sense, allowing a prisoner to vote is kinda valid.
lets say someone is in prison, and a nigga like trump is running that they KNOW is going to take healthcare options away from their family OR theres a candidate running that wants to take a look into the corruption of the prison system. i can def see where prisoners would have a reason to vote.
and most importantly, the constitution is supposed to protect the rights of ALL americans. according to the constitution, the protections outlined within are the birth right of all americans. so it IS a slippery slope when we start trying to decide who deserves what rights and under what circumstances. to enforce the constitution fairly as it is written means to protect the rights of even those we feel are undeserving. maybe a hard pill to swallow for some (understandably) but thats the reality.
