In their rush to go do the Star Wars movie, Dumb & Dumber made this show almost unrecognizable in the end. They crammed two seasons worth of plot in SIX episodes .

It wasn't pretty. They both need to die.

So basically, R + L = J was just so that Dany had a "reason" to go crazy.  No other purpose.

And Bran's only reason to become the 3-Eyed raven was to have flashbacks and tell Jon about his parentage.  So that Dany could go crazy.

And Jon resurrected simply to lead that stupid wight mission beyond the Wall so that the Night King could get a dragon and tear a whole in the Wall to invade Westeros.  Because the invasion wouldn't have happened otherwise.
