It was good for someone like me from NYC who never really understood racism, or colorism, etc.Once you get an understanding of this country's past you really understand:

A) Why some Black ppl you encounter seem so "angry"
B) Why people shy away from Blackness, put down dark skinned folks, refuse to label themselves dark etc.
C) Why that White lady next to you on the plane really can't be trusted no matter how dazzling her Colgate smile is with you.



Some of us NEED these movies. I still don't "hate" White people but I definitely am more aware and it definitely does help to have awareness. You find yourself moving differently.
