let's get right to the cheese wontons

I plan on having one child. So I'm speaking as a prospective parent.

If I were dating someone I wouldn't want my 5 or 6 year old son seeing me hold hands and being affectionate with my man because he would automatically think that's how things are supposed to be . I mean, daddy's doing it. That means it's right.

Now once he got to maybe 13-16 then I'd feel comfortable sitting him down to really let him know what's what. I think by that age he'd be able to understand that what daddy does has nothing to do with what path he'll take in his own life, or what he should and shouldn't feel.

I've always felt like that. I just don't think any and everything should be thrown in front of kids.

I respectfully disagree with this.
"How things are supposed to be..."

That's your reasoning?

Would you be ok, if it were a man and woman holding hands?

Honestly don't believe in pushing homosexuality in front of kids.

They push heterosexual content in front of them.
What's the difference?
:ummwhat:
Heterosexual and homosexual are not the same.

Please tell me we're not about to play this game today. :plzstop:

They are different.
Just like every other content in our social world.

But it seems like you're saying it's OK, to omit a social reality from the human experience.

I just don't agree with it.

Parents have the luxury to turn off the TV and not watch.

But other parents may be ok with their children seeing THE WORLD for what it is. A teachable moment.
It's not about SEX, ASS and DICK.    It's about knowing that families come in all shapes, sizes, and setups. And letting that be known.

I won't argue about it - cause I have my opinion and you have yours.
And I'm NOT changing mind, for shit.

You assumed that I planned on getting married before having kids (heteronormative thinking)
And then said I labeled myself as flamboyant. sdsdds

If anything I was a little frustrated, not defensive.
Ok. Your most definitely passing. Lol. My bad
Girl don't get cute because you were wrong.

Your opinion is one thing but what I actually said is another.

I'd never want to be "straight passing".
Look don't get mad at me because yo kid will want to know more before the age of 13. Again good luck lol

I also really don't believe in gay men having "normal" wedding ceremonies because they were designed/conceptualized with a man and woman in mind.

Walking down the aisle, etc.
That mess was meant for bride and groom. Not groom and groom.

I wouldn't do it. But I don't fault anyone if that's their actual "dream wedding".
I'd understand that. I just don't see the point of it
That's because many lgbt people especially men want straight privileges so desperately. They want to be a bride, prom queen, on episodes of Wife Swap etc. Some may think what you're saying is internalized homophobia, when indeed the same could be said about the individuals who want to mimic heteronormative culture.

I will NEVER say that my blackness is not equal to that of a white person, or any race.
Afro. Never.

What are you even saying today?
I'm disappointed.

Equality is something I very much want and deserve.
And I won't concede just because ignorant people said to do so.

yummy

I'm sure kids don't understand the complexity of death, sexual abuse or divorce, but those are all topics that the average parent is eventually going to have to introduce to their children.

Why are same sex relationships any different?

What?

It's not about your personal views, Ralf. I'm referencing racism and how it works in this country.

We know how it works hun.
But it doesn't make it RIGHT.

And steps to make change is welcomed.
We just don't throw our hands up and say "Oh, this is the way it is"

Equality for Grammys is super important? A basic human right?

You know it's more than just GRAMMYS love.
I'm talking about, in general.  Grammys is just a byproduct of the social oppression we experience.
