I'm sure kids don't understand the complexity of death, sexual abuse or divorce, but those are all topics that the average parent is eventually going to have to introduce to their children.

Why are same sex relationships any different?
You'd chat to a 6 year old about sex?

If they asked, yes.  :dead:
Right.

There's a difference between them proactively asking and you allowing them to watch a program which would prompt those questions.

If I sit my child in front of throwback episodes of HBO Real Sex the hell do I expect is gonna happen once the program ends.

See now... REAL SEX is adult content.

Two people getting married (regardless of gender) is NOT.
Kids attend weddings all the time, don't they?

Kids see cartoon parents all the time, don't they?

It is not about sex.   It is about how different families can be out there.

Whether its grandma, aunty, two dads, two moms, two moms and a dad.
I mean....

Marriage and sex isn't the same thing
These law makers are looking at it from the good ol' christian angle where the bible is used to promote abistence over contraception, the sanity of marriage between man and woman, the condemnation of homosexuality, abortion and sex before marriage..it was even once used as proof as why blacks should be slaves and also as a tool to oppress slaves.
The world isn't FIT for that anymore, it's time these kids face reality and equip themselves with facts instead of fairy-styles from 12AD I say.

Now, I can understand if a parent wants to control that narrative - and tell their children on their own.
Well, turn off the television... and do it, or not.

But don't tell me WE don't fucking exist, and don't belong on television.
I would have LOVED to see that as a child growing up.
But it was unrealistic, it did not reflect our time.

Well, now. Men can get married. Let the stories on TV, reflect our time.

Well, there's clearly a difference between that and an episode of two cartoon characters getting married  :dead:

And if you feel explaining anything complex to a child should be avoided, then maybe you shouldn't have any children

I'd just want my child to have complete ability to choose what they'd like without confusion.
Same goes for something as simple as toys.

If we go to a toy store and he happens to gravitate to a pony he sees, then let him have the pony.

I wouldn't take it from him and force a truck into his hands.
And vice versa. If we go to the toy store and he's only interested into boyish stuff , that's his decision to make.

Am I bad for thinking this way?

Everything NEW to a child is confusing, until they LEARN or EXPERIENCE it.
:ohwow: I mean, it is the fabric of life.

Yh then he can choose to watch the 784353 other cartoons that don't have homo characters? Right? Or maybe at that age he doesn't care enough to notice the difference.
Kids are the least non-judgemental and most innocent.
Sexuality to them isn't a THING unless you start to make it so.

fdfdsf !! the fact he already judged this whole thing as confusion instead of equality sounds like he's already made the choice FOR his child :dead:

But I never said kids should never learn about this stuff. It'd be doing them justice to teach them.

My argument has been which age is appropriate...I don't think 6 or 7 is the age.

I'm sorry but I don't see me moving from that

Ok well there as studies that show that the age is perfect to start health promotion.
At 6,7 years old they're learning about human anatomy, what places are special and can't be seen by everyone only parents ect, they are not perched at their desks their the projector logged into the BLACKED section on PornHub

And watch some of these documentaries where they watch lil kids as young as 5 on the playground, class ect :dead:
They're already talking about husbands, wives, playing house ect, although it's innocent it's already there :dead:
Introducing this to that would prevent so many kids growing up feeling weird, out of place, suicidal ect.

And yes marriage and sex aren't the same thing, but they are undeniably intertwined.

"First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage"
Yh maybe if you're white girl in the south in the 1800's
