Her nail shop and other Black owned businesses on the block were trashed by a group of unruly kids.

Swipe to see her speaking out on the mess. Her lil speech nearly brought me to tears.

We have to love ourselves enough to respect our own neighborhoods and respect the businesses we establish there.

This is happening to Teyana's mess, meanwhile Koo Chi Wa's nail shop is somewhere unscathed.
Make it make sense.

yummy

I mean, it could be something against one of the employees. One of my friends went a few weeks back and said the stylists are kinda...well...ya know...hood

:udontlookok:

Gilgamesh.

I don't really see this as a Black issue though.

It SUCKS but you made your business in the hood (which is her right) but hood shit is gonna happen.
Mentioning the fact your BBO doesn't make you exempt. Would sh rather they vandalise the local drug store?

uhhhh....

When a white person's business gets broken into it's not a "white issue"

This happened because of the location of her business, not because Black are inherently destructive.

yummy

It wasn't just her business, hers was just one of businesses targeted on the block.

I see, that must be why she deleted the IG post

It annoyed the hell out of me when people asked why any business owner would return to the hood to do business , because it's clear to me that people's love for their community brings them there to serve it.

But mess like this just gives questions like that a ton of logic and credence.

They're kids so some unruliness is to be expected I suppose. But this isn't the first time we've been spotted trashing our own neighborhood for sport. Or to prove a point.

I know it's just not as simple as saying "Guys stop <3 " . But it's frustrating to see this happen to Teyana. She hasn't even had the business for that long.
!!! This isn't some one off, 1st time thing I seen it with my own eyes growing up in The Chi, hell they just vandalized our own hood period. Didn't matter who owned it. Trash and liter every damn where.

Take them outside of it, over 90% some how get common sense and know how to treat other communities area.

I hate to say this but as black people we like to coddle and turn a blind eye to our mess as a community on all fronts. It's time we be real with ourselves.

Right. We cannot act as if we don't have a history of trashing our communities.

And I get the same feeling too sometimes when it comes to certain conversations....We're quick to jump at an opportunity to bash the oppressive race (understandably), but when the tea gets internal, many of us shy away. Start looking in another direction, begin twiddling our thumbs and mess.

No ma'am. Let's fucking chat.

!!!!
Quit acting like our shit don't stank.
