AA history ain't always pretty cause we were once in chains but IT IS A HISTORY. A history that speaks to how resilient we are and how much we've overcome.

Non-American Blacks kill me with the "you need to go back home" rhetoric.  It feels like they are saying we as AA don't have shit to be proud of and are lost beings until we trace back to what part of Africa we are from.

it would be nice to visist africa but we're just not african.

im not here because of just an african history

im here because africans were enslaved, brought to america, and my ancestors intermixed with europeans/natives both unwillingly and willingly

without that stuff happening, there'd be no me.  we're all a result of that very specific history
it's like jenga. even if one piece goes missing, the whole thing would crumble.

africa is def part of our larger history, but we're just not african.
being african american in itself is an experience and a rich history.
