I dont think Toni and Whit really veered into Mary's lane for most of their catalogs
Whit had Im Your Baby in like 1990, then went to The Bodyguard, Waiting to Exhale,Preacher's Wife
nothing was Mary-ish until like maybe Heartbreak Hotel?
and Toni had her own Babyface/ Anita inspired sound

They were all just pop girls who never tried anything urban until after Mary. I'm not hating on any of those ladies because I adore them all, but it's the truth.
Toni was definitely Urban from the beginning. Her only Pop ballad was Unbreak
but Love Shouldve, Sad Love Song, Making Me High, Let It Flow etc are smooth R&B
Whitney was Pop but Im Your Baby was urban/New Jack Swing.
you just be talking

Not Mary being the reason girls evolved and tried sumn new. GHETTO ass Whitney was just being who tf she was and Toni never fully went into any Mary lane. This is bullshit. Furthermore both of those girls give and continued to give what Mary NEVER could.  An actual classic vocal.  Mary guttersnipe ass getting dogwalked in this bitch tonight
This is my pass to say WHATEVER tf I wanna say about the mess she releases so I don't wanna hear SHIT! Baby mama is a mess of a song btw

Best performance of the night.

Easily!

Shaky vocals and all. I didn't give a damn. I was getting every bit of life from my Queen getting her flowers and reliving my childhood.

I STAN.

I concur!!!! It was very nostalgic and I loved every minute of it.

Justaway_

More than a Goddess >>>>>>> anything Mary has done :dead:
and more urban as well :woohoo:

Right!!!! Love No Limit gets me every time. Is she stopping in your city for a date on The Royalty Tour? I'm thinking about catching the one in Brooklyn.

I don't think so.

Y'all are really in here tripping. This is one of the very few off nights Mary had and y'all wanna act like sis can't sing or perform?

Nobody really have a great vocal that night. Not even Fantasia. She was even struggling to push notes out
