Grace Jones might be a slave to the rhythm but she's certainly no slave to contractual acting roles. The 70-year-old disco pioneer and all-round creative force reportedly quit her role in the upcoming James Bond film within minutes of arriving on set.

Jones, who previously played villain May Day in 1985 Bond film A View to A Kill, was set to return to the franchise in a cameo role but was angered by how few lines she'd been given. According to The Mirror, Jones has been given "premium accommodation" near the film's set at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire but "took her brief cameo as a slight". While the news has not been confirmed by the Bond producers, Jones alleged behaviour doesn't seem entirely out of the blue. After all, this is the woman who slapped an inattentive chat show host and is banned for life from Disney World for indecent exposure.

Jones' departure is one of many setbacks faced by the new Bond film, known by its working title Bond 25. Now under the direction of Cary Fukunaga, the project was originally meant to be directed by Trainspotting's Danny Boyle, who left citing "creative differences" with the film's producers. But Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge has recently joined the film as a co-writer, so maybe we'll see a reprisal of the hot priest.
